Publication Ethics

Mediakita Journal is a national journal with bestari partners which is published twice a year in print and online by the Islamic Broadcasting Communication Study Program of IAIN Kediri. This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing articles in Mediakita Journal, including authors, editorial boards, bestari partners, and publishers. 

Publishing Ethics Guidelines

Publishing articles in theMedikita Journal is an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. The articles reviewed support and contain the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on standards of ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in publishing, namely: authors, journal editors, peer-reviewed partners, publishers, and the public.

The Islamic Broadcasting Communication Study Program as the publisher of the Mediakita Journal is responsible for overseeing all stages of publishing seriously and recognizing ethical and other responsibilities. The institution is not only committed to ensuring that reprint advertisements and other commercial revenues have no impact or influence on editorial decisions, it is also committed to assisting communication with journal managers and / or other publishers if it is deemed useful and necessary.

Issuance Decision

The editor of the Mediakita Journal is responsible for deciding which of the submitted articles should be published. The validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive this decision. Editors can be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and limited by the legal provisions that must be enforced regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors can confer with other editors or the assessment team in making this decision.

Fair Treatment

Editors always judge manuscripts based on their intellectual content regardless of the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality or political philosophy.

Confidentiality

Editors and editing staff may not disclose any information about manuscripts submitted to anyone other than authors, expert editors, bestari partners, and publishers.

Notifications and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in the submitted manuscripts may not be used in the editor's own research without the express written consent of the authors.

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Bestari partner assessments help editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with authors can also help writers improve their writing.

Speed

Any selected evaluator who feels unqualified to assess the research reported in a manuscript or knows that his quick review will not be possible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the assessment process.

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for assessment must be treated as confidential documents. The document may not be shown or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.

Standard of Objectivity

Assessments must be carried out objectively. Personal criticism of the author is not justified. Assessors must clearly state their views with supporting arguments.

Source Acknowledgment

Assessors must identify relevant published works that were not cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by a relevant quote. An appraiser must also ask the editor to pay attention to any similarities or overlaps between the manuscript being assessed and other writings that have been published.

Notifications and Conflicts of Interest

Confidential information or opinions obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and may not be used for personal gain. Assessors should not consider texts in which they have conflicts of interest arising from competitive, cooperative, or otherwise related or other relationships with any authors, companies, or institutions the article is associated with.

Reporting Standards

Authors must present an accurate report of the work created and an objective discussion of its significance. The main data must be represented accurately in writing. An article should include sufficient detail and references to allow others to repeat the work. Statements that are fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate are unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works, and that they are citing correctly when using someone else's work and / or words.

Multiple, Repeat or Concurrent Issuance

An author should generally not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or major publication. It is unethical and unacceptable to submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.

Authorities should be limited to those who made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study. All people who made important contributions should be listed as co-authors. The appropriate author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included in the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to submit it for publication.

All authors must disclose in their text any financial or other substantive conflicts that may be suspected of affecting the results or interpretation of their text. All financial support for the project must be disclosed.
