Abstract

This study explores the meaning of life among elderly individuals who participate in suluk practices, emphasizing the role of spirituality in their daily lives. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations of eight elderly individuals actively engaged in suluk activities. Thematic analysis was employed to identify emerging patterns in participants’ experiences. The findings indicate that participation in suluk significantly contributes to a sense of life purpose and meaning. Additionally, elderly individuals involved in suluk reported improvements in psychological and physical well-being, including enhanced happiness, tranquility, and better social relationships. These findings highlight the importance of spiritual activities, such as suluk, in enhancing the quality of life for the elderly and provide valuable insights for developing intervention programs to support their well-being. Therefore, this study recommends integrating spiritual activities into elderly health and well-being programs to foster a meaningful life.
