Islamic Religious Views and Their Influence on Environmental Concern

Abstrak

The view that religion and the environment are two things that are related and interconnected. This view has developed and caused religion to tend not to contribute significantly to human awareness of protecting the environment. In the Islamic concept, the environment is introduced as a very important aspect by the Qur'an in various ways. The environment plays an important role in human existence and should be considered a resource that needs to be protected, respected and preserved. Islamic teachings emphasize the importance of protecting the environment as the responsibility of humans as caliphs on earth. In Indonesia, the commitment to sustainable development requires attention to natural resource management, sustainable development, and improving the quality of life that takes into account environmental balance. Today's environmental problems are increasingly complex, the decline of natural resources, water crisis pollution, plastic waste problems, illegal deforestation, water and air pollution, and waste problems are the main priorities that need to be addressed in environmental conservation efforts. Using qualitative methods, this study found that preserving the environment is recommended and required in Islam. The Islamic perspective on environmental stewardship draws on a number of instances that illustrate important elements of Islamic environmental stewardship. All self-reflection processes necessitate input from an Islamic viewpoint on ecological sustainability due to the similarity of future hazards and problems. As a result of the environmental crisis's worldwide reach, everyone must work together to stop future environmental disasters before they start and to mitigate the effects of those that are already here. Cooperative efforts between government, society and industry are needed to face this challenge by implementing sustainable policies and measures to reduce the impact on environmental degradation and preserve the environment for sustainability for future generations.
