Abstrak

The health aspect is an indicator of successful development, where health is a physical, mental and social condition, not only free from disease and disability but also spiritually and spiritually healthy (WHO 2015). Women's mental health is an important aspect that must be considereds in reproductive health services. Women experience various physical and emotional changes throughout their life cycle, especially during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. These changes can affect a woman's mental well-being and impact her quality of life. Midwives are professional health workers who provide midwifery services to women throughout their lives. Midwives are not only responsible for maintaining women's physical health, but also their mental health. The method used in writing this article is to use a literature review, namely by searching for several articles via the Google Scholar website. From several articles reviewed, several roles and responsibilities of midwives were found in providing support for women's mental health. After that, compare one piece of literature with another to identify the role and responsibilities of midwives in providing support for women's mental health, and how midwives support women's mental health. Midwives are needed as the front guard to equip the community. Social support and psychological support are provided by midwives so that it is hoped that this anxiety and disappointment will disappear. When providing counseling or direction, midwives should use words that are easy to understand. Direction and counseling provide a supportive impression without isolating, especially for mothers who are having children for the first time.
