The issue of obesity in female students is not only related to their physical condition but also affects their psychological well-being. Meanwhile, self-concept encompasses an individual's mental representation of themselves, including both physical and psychological aspects. The aim of this study is to understand the self-concept of female students experiencing obesity and the factors influencing it. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through interviews with five female student subjects experiencing obesity. Subjects were selected using purposive sampling technique. The criteria for subjects in this study were active female students at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Kediri, unmarried, with a body mass index (BMI) classification indicating obesity (BMI &gt; 25.0 according to WHO). The results of this study are as follows: (1) The self-concept of female students experiencing obesity at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Kediri is that they can describe their current physical and psychological conditions. Slimness is considered the beauty standard in their environment, although the subjects have their own beauty standards and make efforts to achieve them. Obesity does not hinder them in carrying out daily activities but affects their health. Female students experiencing obesity receive negative treatment and comments from their surroundings. They feel sad, regretful, self-blaming, and self-loathing about having an obese body. They also experience anxiety related to their health and lack confidence when looking in the mirror. In interactions, they may appear relaxed or embarrassed, but they still fulfill their daily roles effectively. (2) Factors influencing the self-concept of female students experiencing obesity include body shape, nicknames, unsuccessful weight loss attempts, and social support.</p> Sandy Kurniasari, Rini Risnawita Suminta, Sunarno Copyright (c) 2024 Sandy Kurniasari, Rini Risnawita Suminta, Sunarno https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnalfuda.iainkediri.ac.id/index.php/happiness/article/view/2068 Thu, 27 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Academic Stress and Resilience as Predictors of Pro-Social Behaviour among Undergraduates of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko https://jurnalfuda.iainkediri.ac.id/index.php/happiness/article/view/2177 <p>The problems of pro-social behavior among individuals have been in existence from the recorded history. Studies that have investigated pro-social behavior have used different predictors and populations with varied results. Therefore, this study investigated academic stress and resilience as predictors of pro-social behavior among first year undergraduates of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. The study adopted cross-sectional survey design while convenience sampling technique was used to collect data from 219 participants using the Pro-social Behavior Scale, Maslach Burnout Inventory and Resilience Scale. Data collected were analyzed using multiple regressions to test three hypotheses which were accepted at a p &lt; .05 level of significance. The result showed that academic stress and resilience jointly predicted pro-social behavior among study participants [R2 =.10, F (2,216) =11.88, p &lt; .05]. In addition, academic stress (β= -.26, p &lt; .05) independently predicted pro-social behavior while resilience did not independently predict pro-social behavior among study participants (β = .12, p &gt; .05). The study concluded that academic stress is a strong predictor of pro-social behavior among study participants. It is recommended that university management and other stakeholders should organize regular seminars on stress reduction techniques that would encourage activities that would lead to pro-social behavior among undergraduates.</p> Olukayode A. The social discrimination experienced is always repeated. This is because ADHA are often ostracized, often receive negative stigma, and are often neglected. This social discrimination makes ADHA feel easily stressed. Therefore, efforts are needed to overcome the stress problems experienced by ADHA. Efforts that can be made include using the story telling method and role playing. The novelty of this research lies in the use of story telling and role play methods in an integrated manner. This research aims to determine the extent to which story telling and role playing treatment can reduce stress in HIV/AIDS children in Tulungagung Regency. The research design used is a Mix Method Explanatory Sequential Design approach, with two sequential or interactive sequential phases. The first stage carried out quantitative data collection and analysis as a priority to answer research questions. The next stage of qualitative data collection is carried out following the previous phase. The subjects of this research were children with HIV/AIDS who experienced stress and entered the concrete operational and formal operational cognitive development phase (7 to 17 years) with a sample of 15 children. The measuring tool used is the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) questionnaire with 10 question items (PSS-10) and 2x story telling therapy. The research results obtained show that t count is 6.6647 &gt; t table 2.145 so that providing treatment to children with HIV/Aids using a combination of story telling and role play can reduce stress levels significantly.</p> Germino Wahyu Broto, Afinia Sandhya Rini Copyright (c) 2024 Germino Wahyu Broto, Afinia Sandhya Rini https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnalfuda.iainkediri.ac.id/index.php/happiness/article/view/1555 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Prososial Relawan Trauma Healing Korban Bencana Alam (Prosocial Trauma Volunteers Healing Natural Disaster Victims) https://jurnalfuda.iainkediri.ac.id/index.php/happiness/article/view/2213 <p>The geographical location of Indonesia's territory is traversed by the Pacific Circum which makes many active mountain ranges in Indonesia.
